Aided Inertial Estimation of Wing Shape

چکیده
Advanced large-wing-span aircraft result in more structural flexibility and the potential for instability or poor handling qualities. These shortcomings call stability augmentation systems that entail active control. Consequently, in-flight estimation of wing shape is beneficial control very flexible aircraft. This paper proposes a new methodology estimating states based on extended Kalman filtering by exploiting ideas employed aided inertial navigation systems. High-bandwidth-rate gyro angular velocities at different stations are integrated to provide short-term standalone solution, additional low-bandwidth aiding sensors then bound diverging errors. The proposed filter implementation does not require flight dynamics model aircraft, facilitates often tedious tuning process, allows accurate under large nonlinear deflections. To illustrate approach, technique verified means simulations using sighting devices as sensors, an observability study conducted. In contrast previous work literature stereo vision, sensor configuration provides fully observable state found only one camera multiple rate gyros update prediction phases, respectively.

Inertial-aided Rolling Shutter Relative Pose Estimation
Relative pose estimation is a fundamental problem in computer vision and it has been studied for conventional global shutter cameras for decades. However, recently, a rolling shutter camera has been widely used due to its low cost imaging capability and, since the rolling shutter camera captures the image line-by-line, the relative pose estimation of a rolling shutter camera is more difficult t...
متن کاملVision Aided Inertial Navigation
Today GPS aided inertial navigation is widely used and well studied in any aspects. The good short term properties of inertial data are complemented by the long term stability of the GPS signal. A common approach is to use a Kalman filter for fusing GPS and inertial data to constrain the inertial sensor drift. Although this is working well in many applications there is a need to find a similar ...

Reliable information about position and attitude is an essential requirement for many applications. The work expounded in this paper aims at a tight integration of low-cost inertial navigation and stereo vision to obtain this information. The method I present here is based on passive measurements and does not rely on external referencing. Thus, it provides a navigation solution for unknown indo...
متن کاملSignals of Opportunity Aided Inertial Navigation
A signal of opportunity (SOP)-aided inertial navigation system (INS) framework is presented and studied. The following problem is studied. A mobile receiver with access to global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals is aiding its onboard INS with GNSS pseudoranges. While navigating, the receiver draws pseudorange observations on ambient unknown terrestrial SOPs and estimates the SOPs’ sta...
متن کاملPrecision Targeting Using Gps/inertial-aided Sensors
Precision weapons including miniature GPS/inertial guidance systems have become the mainstay of the DoD arsenal. These “smart” weapons can be delivered to target with unprecedented accuracy, without requiring expensive seekers for terminal guidance. GPSguided weapons are in development for gunlaunched, air-to-surface and even mortar munitions. In order for these precision weapons to be effectiv...
